The wine town Zell is famous for its
"Schwarze Katz" (Black Cat) wine from the fertile vineyards along the Moselle.
Apart from that it is known for the fountain in the Market Square with the sculpture of
the cat, the powder tower, the parish church, the Electoral Palace, the city walls and the
monastery of Marienburg which are also worth seeing. As is the village on the opposite
bank of the Mosel with a particularly unusual half-timbered house and a farmhouse with
high gables and a row of St. Andrew´s crosses. |
