Klopp Castle, beautiful castle near Bingen on the Rhine |
| Klopp Castle near Bingen, first mentioned in1282, now houses a local history museum. It was the home of the knights of the archbishop of Mainz until it was destroyed in 1689. After the demolition of the remains in 1713 keep and gatehouse were rebuilt around 1855, the rest in 1875 till1879. Since 1897 it is home of the town council and today houses a restaurant. | |
